I’m a writer. Everything else is just context.

I’ve been putting words on pages and screens, and notebooks, and the backs of receipts, for as long as I can remember. For a decade that took place over at circusmums.com, where I wrote about parenthood with the kind of honesty that made strangers feel like friends. These days, it happens here and, on Substack at Tinuke Writes, and in the pages of the novel I’m currently finishing.
That novel is the thing I’m most excited and most terrified about, which feels right. I’m completing an MSt in Creative Writing at the University of Cambridge  (something I still have to pinch myself about!) and the book is coming together in the margins of a very full life.That full life includes a senior marketing role at a huge American corporation, where I lead LinkedIn content strategy for executives and the brand. Before that: production editing at the BMJ, where precision wasn’t optional. Teaching English as a foreign language. Finance compliance. A decade of blogging that took me from late-night laptop sessions to campaigns with Pinterest, Meta, Disney and more.
None of it feels random anymore. All of it made me a better writer.
I’m also co-chair of CB Mentoring, a Cambridge charity supporting Black and other global majority children in the local area — work that matters to me enormously.
